She has thousands of hours in aerobatic and emergency maneuver training in tailwheel aircraft and obtained her instructor’s license over twenty years ago. She has flown jets, is type-rated and flies the DC-3 (a giant tail-wheel), and has worked with the FAA safety team FAAST to design safety seminars and flight-training for Emergency Maneuvers. Wei-En is passionate about aviation safety, and is a competition aerobatic pilot. Wei-En obtained her Ph.D. Masters, and Bachelors in Mathematics, Econometrics, Statistics, French and Comparative Literature at Stanford, Harvard and Cornell Universities. She has managed and structured hedge funds, and has worked in leadership positions in aerospace, clean energy, and finance. In 2017, she co-founded a Silicon Valley-based company in AI Medical Imaging, which currently has deployments in hospitals and clinics globally. Originally from Singapore, Wei-En considers herself semi-retired at this point and teaches out of her love of aviation and passion for flying.
